Absolutely. I have dedicated a huge amount of my career learning to meet the needs of pets struggling with anxiety and stress and I love working with you and your pet to create a system that works for us all. Seeing a pet overcome their anxieties and learn to tolerate and perhaps even enjoy grooming is one of my favourite parts of the work!
I am always willing to attempt to work with a pet with aggressive tendencies. Pending the level of aggression, I will certainly try to do what is safe for myself and the pet. Often, there are methods to complete aspects of the grooming process. However, if I feel the level of aggression poses serious risk to the pet or myself, services will be concluded and I will gladly recommend some alternative options!
While i do make some exceptions based on circumstances, generally most pets do tend to thrive without an owner present. Leaving your pet with the groomer creates an opportunity for us to bond with your pet without them focusing on you. They are able to find connection and comfort and also maintain focus on the process which makes the process safer. I am always happy to offer a look into the salon space and a "happy visit" ahead of time to meet you and your pet and get comfortable as well!
